What is recorded here

In rough hill pasture, on the N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.05m) defined by the lower courses of a stone wall (T 0.45m; H 0.25m) which protrudes from a grass-covered earthen bank (Wth 0.6m; H 0.1m). The interior is obscured by rubble and it is raised (H 0.2m) at the N and cut (D 0.25m) into the upslope at the S (D 0.25m) to compensate for the hillslope. Another hut site (CO102-041005-) is c. 30m to the S. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
