In blanket bog, on summit of NW spur of Slieve Miskish mountains. Isolated mine complex with possible "Danes" tradition. Three inclined workings driven 260°- 280° into base of low outcrop; waterlogged infill deposits, not excavated. Accessible dimensions working A (L 3m; Wth 4.65m; H 0.8m); working B (L 2m; Wth 2m; H 1.2m); working C (L 1.9m; Wth 1.5m; H 1.2m); interior (Wth 0.85m; H 0.5m). Smooth concave wall rock profile typical of fire-set workings. Denuded spoil dumps outside mine to E and NE (22m E-W; 19m N-S); stone mauls of Mt. Gabriel-type exposed. (O'Brien 1987).
