What is recorded here

In rough pasture, on the N end of a low rise in an area of cutaway bog at the foot of Tooreennamna Mountain. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.4m E-W; 2.15m N-S) defined by a grass-covered bank (Wth 0.7m; H 0.3m) of earth with some stone inclusions. The interior is slightly lower (c. 0.05m) than the exterior ground level. A radially set stone in the enclosing element at the S may indicate the entrance location. There is a standing stone pair (CO102-004002-) c. 40m to the SE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
