On S bank of Owenaboy river near confluence with Cork Harbour. No visible surface trace of castle, probably built by Fitzgeralds. Only surviving fragment one side of cusped ogee-headed windoww light, with trefoil design in recessed spandrel, probably 15th century in date (see drawing: O Murchadha 1967, 88); now in private possession.
