What is recorded here

In pasture, on a N-facing slope. According to local information, a barely discernible mound of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil was noted here when the field was ploughed. There were no visible remains of this mound in 2005 when the field was under pasture. A spring well which was to the NW of the mound has been drained. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
