In lush pasture, on a SSW-facing slope, above a short steeper fall of ground. Indicated as a circular 'Danes Fort' on a 1775 map (no. 26) by B. Scalé (private collection). It is not visible at ground level. A field boundary, with a deep ditch along the E side, would appear to run roughly N-S though the centre of the levelled rath.
