What is recorded here

Square, level area, just E of farmhouse; partially used as garden; known locally as site of castle. Wall along E side (L c. 15m) has external batter (H 2.8m), inner facing does not survive (int. H c. 1.2m); wall along S side (L c. 16m) has very loose rubble facing externally (H c. 1.25m) and is planted with trees. No visible surface trace of return walls to W or N. According to Healy (1988, 293), a castle of the Barry Oge. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
