What is recorded here

Roadside; cruciform church, long axis of nave NW-SE, with chancel to SE. 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps show T-shaped structure, chancel must be recent addition, otherwise church has 19th-century appearance. Nave and transepts lit by pointed windows; entered through door in NW gable; gable topped by bellcote. Panelled wooden roof inside; classical wooden surround frames chancel arch. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
