What is recorded here

On the level shoulder of a gentle W-facing slope. Some 50m SW of a standing stone pair (CO094-089----) is a 'cist-like' feature represented by a slab which appears to be supported by an upright. The nature of this feature is unclear. It has been included in the Inventory with the standing stone pair (inv. no. 194). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
