Marked only on 1842 OS 6-inch map as 'Giant's Grave'. In pasture, c. 150m to E of wedge tomb (6389). Removed; no visible surface trace. According to deValera and O Nualláin (1982, 49, no. 38), drawn in the OS Memoranda and described as 'two long flags placed parallel 6ft long 3ft broad 2ft high -no covering stone - appears a grave'. They suggest it may have been a small wedge tomb or a large cist (ibid.).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
