In rough pasture on cutaway bog, in a level area to the S of the Kerry River. A large sandstone boulder (1.75m N-S; 1.6m E-W; H 0.85m) rests on five support-stones which, augmented by two pad-stones, elevate it (0.15-0.2m) above the ground. According to local tradition, the field in which it stands was known as 'páirc an aonaigh', a place where a large fair took place in 'ancient times', with payments made and deals sealed on this boulder. Field boundaries (CO090-016002-) are c. 50m to the W.
