What is recorded here

In rough rocky hill grazing, at the base of an E-facing cliff to the SW of the summit of Esk Mountain. The remains of a D-shaped hut site (2.6m E-W) defined by a curving stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.4m) with a straight W side (L 3m) formed by the linear face of the cliff. The stone wall protrudes from the shallow bog. The interior is raised (H 0.3m) at the S and is cut (D 0.5m) into the upslope at N to create a level interior. An ancient copper mine (CO090-012001-) is c. 25m to the N. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
