Part of the bawn wall still survives on the W side of Ballymaloe Castle (CO089-004001-). Low square tower (c. 4.4m E-W; c. 4.2m N-S) in present yard, probably stood at NE corner of bawn. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
