In Cloyne, rectangular nave (long axis NW-SE) with side aisles; marked on 1842 OS 6-inch map as 'R.C. Chapel'. Three-storey embattled tower at NW end flanked each side by 1-storey embattled porch/sacristy. Ornate SE entrance elevation. Pointed door ope in NE end of NW wall; chamfered limestone surround (CO088-019003-) with 'IHS Maria INS' inscribed on N jamb in late 16th/early 17th century style lettering; doorcase removed post 1983, during alterations to church; whereabouts uncertain. Round-headed windows in aisle walls light interior. Nave divided from aisles by series of composite columns. Classical reredos behind altar. Church late 18th/early 19th century in appearance; entrance facade later. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
