A charcoal-enriched spread (10m E-W; D 0.15m) was discovered during archaeological testing in 2004 in advance of the construction of a proposed factory. Evidence from a geophysical survey indicates that the spread extends in a N-S direction for c. 23m. The spread overlay a circular silty clay deposit (diam. 0.5m) which was interpreted as the fill of a possible pit or post-hole. This burnt spread was found c. 20m to the NW of a rath (CO087-048----). A corn-drying kiln (CO087-146----) was also found during test-trenching c. 40m to the S. (Cummins 2005; 2007, 45)
