What is recorded here

In a graveyard (CO087-079----). Power (1918, 222) recorded 'Ceall Garbhain-St. Garbhan's Church' in the town of Cobh and noted that 'Kilgarvan was, at one time, another name for the parish or for part of it'. There are no visible remains of this church (Zajac et al. 1995, 36). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
