In S half of ringfort (CO084-026001-). Described in 1864 by Pitt-Rivers and Caulfield as a ' "winding gallery....50ft long running N-S, beginning 9ft from ditch on S where it is closed by a large slab" ' (Twohig 1987, 43). No visible surface trace. Second souterrain to NE (CO084-026003-). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
