In pasture, on S-facing slope. Roughly circular raised area (27.2m N-S; 26m NE-SW) defined by earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m) WSW->NW and to E; scarp (H c. 1m) to N, S and SW. Bank incorporated into field fence system on E side; field clearance material dumped along outer face. External fosse visible as slight depression to SW. Interior slopes gently down to S, except for last 4-5m which falls steeply; possible souterrain (CO083-096002-) in NW quadrant. Limekiln depicted in SW bank on 1842 OS 6-inch map; no visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
