What is recorded here

In Warrenscourt demesne, at W edge of woodland. Locally known as site of Kilbarry church and graveyard. Heavily overgrown area with no visible trace of enclosure, burials or structural remains. Stone (H c. 1.7m; 0.4m x 0.28m) erected c. 1980 by Kilmurry Historical Society marks site. "Cillbarra" is inscribed on plaque beside stone. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
