What is recorded here

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture, near top of N-facing slope. Removed c. 1975; now lying in field fence to E (CO083-155----). Hartnett (1939, 144) recorded stone (H 36in) as possible 'cow-stone'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 15 December 2009 Revised by: Mary Tunney
