In pasture, on SW-facing slope. Roughly circular area (36m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (max. int. H 3.5m) with external fosse (D 2.4m).Stone wall atop bank to NE where incorporated into field fence system. Fosse best preserved to NE and E; sides more eroded and gradual elsewhere. Entrance (Wth 4m) to SSE, revetted to E by two large stones embedded inbank; causewayed. Interior cut into hillside to NE, raised on SW side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
