Field system in Ballyvodock West

In tillage. Cropmark (AP, Dr. D.D.C. Pochin Mould) of linear system in field to W of circular enclosure (CO076-089---) and in adjacent field to S. To W of circular enclosure, three or possibly four regular parallel fosses run NW-SE. Shorter SW-NE fosses run between these creating small square of rectangular division of very approximately 60m x 40m. In field to S, separated by root crop, curving line runs SW-NE from S field fence; shorter line crosses it at right angles, meeting a second shorter SW-NE line running in opposite direction. Shorter cross lines, some very tentative; delinate small irregular enclosures. Possible pits and markings on drier ground to W. In next field to S again, pattern again more regular: two parallel NW-SE lines, shorter lengths of fosses at right angles, one extending into field to N. On same general alignment as middle field; very similar to N field. To S, polygonal fosses surround N side of levelled sub-circular enclosure (CO076-090---); system seems to respect this. To W possible trackway defined by parallel fosses runs S from N field fence on same alignment as levelled field fence present on OS 3rd ed. map; then veers slightly to W before continuing into S field fence. May also continue NE as part of system in middle field. Neither system corresponds in aligment to adjacent townland boundary to W.
