What is recorded here

Discovered in 2002 during archaeological investigations in advance of a construction development. A small pit (0.76m N-S; 0.65m E-W; D 0.24m) filled with charcoal-rich silty clay was uncovered. No finds were identified in it and thus its dating remains uncertain. (Purcell 2004, 57) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
