On E side of Shandon Street and c. 60m N of river Lee. Roughly rectangular grass-covered area (c. 60m E-W; c. 25m N-S) enclosed by stone wall; now used as childrens playground. No visible surface trace of C of I church, St. Mary's Shandon, built in 1693 (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 283), and 'taken down' in 1879 (O'Shea 1943, 32).
