What is recorded here

An oval post-built enclosure (c. 7.8m N-S; 6.3m E-W) was discovered during test-trenching and excavated in 2001 in advance of the construction of the N22 Ballincollig Bypass (Murphy 2003e, 43-4). The enclosure consisted of thirteen circular post-holes (diam. c. 0.25m; D c. 0.2m) but no finds or datable samples were obtained from the fills of the post-holes (ibid.). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
