Not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. In level pasture, on front lawn of Forest House demesne. Circular area (diam. 41.4m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2m) with external fosse (D 2m). Entrance to E. Hartnett (1939, 145) noted 'The interior is planted with trees. To the east, the inner slope of the fosse is banked up and protected by a modern stone wall'. Interior now clear of trees but remains somewhat uneven. Symmetrical appearance of site and position may suggest alteration to landscape feature.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
