In the centre of a graveyard (CO071-108002-), the site of the ancient parish church of Cannaway; no visible surface trace. Church here in ruins by 1639; in 1700 only half the walls were standing (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 55-6). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
