What is recorded here

In pasture, on SW-facing slope. Circular area (29.4m NNW-SSE; 28m NE-SW) defined by earthen bank (max. int. H 3m; ext. H 2m). Inner bank height lower on S side (H c. 0.6m); field clearance stones atop of bank to N; limekiln built into outer bank face to W. Drain immediately outside bank to S continues to E and W beyond enclosure. Interior overgrown with ferns, slopes gently down to SW; raised on SW side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
