What is recorded here

According to local information, the ground collapsed here in the late 20th century, possibly indicating an underground chamber of a souterrain. There are no visible remains of it. A souterrain (CO070-126----) was discovered c. 100m to the NE in the same field in 2002. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
