What is recorded here

Built against natural rocky slope; partially overgrown and collapsed on SW side and at NE corner. Front elevation (SE) has arched recess (H 1.75m; Wth 2.15m; D 2.7m) with arch and sloping slabs to rear, stoking hole evident. Circular stone-lined funnel (diam. c. 2m), partially infilled, collapsed on SW side. Front elevation (H 5m) has shallow horizontal ledge 0.8m above top of recess arch. Ramp off-centre to rear (4.4m NE-SW; 7m SE-NW). Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
