On top of a rock outcrop, immediately S of avenue to Raleigh House (CO070-109----).Two-storey square embattled tower (int. 1.3m N-S) built within NW side of D-shaped platform (H c. 4.5m); fireplace in NE corner; upper floor and roof no longer survive. Platform, accessed by stairs in W wall, enclosed by parapet wall with low turret projecting from SW corner. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
