In rough pasture, below crest of ridge on N-facing slope. Roughly circular area (43m N-S; 42m E-W) defined by earthen bank (int. H 2m); external fosse (D 0.8m) ESE->N. Bank stone-faced internally. Entrance (Wth 3.6m) to ENE, approached by ramp. Approx. 11m inside bank is remains of levelled bank (H 0.25m) ESE->NNW, with damp external fosse (D 0.15m) SE->N; gap in inne rbank to ENE, opposite external entrance; interior slightly raised and crossed by remains of cultivation ridges on E-W axis. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
