What is recorded here

In SW quadrant of ringfort (CO061-015001-). Hartnett (1939, 191) recorded an opening leading to a 'long chamber 20 x 4 feet with stone lined walls and flagged roof. There is an opening 15in wide and 10in high leading to a second chamber' which could not be examined but 'appeared to be of similar construction to the main chamber'. No visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
