What is recorded here

Under banks at NE side of ringfort (CO060-075002-). Hartnett (1939, 46), recorded site of souterrain, filled in c. 1919, 'inside the rampart to the north-east'; he was also informed locally of second opening 'inside the rampart to the southwest'. No visible surface trace. Possible souterrain (CO060-075004-) outside outer bank. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
