What is recorded here

In pasture. Semicircular, slightly raised platform (diam. 10m N-S) defined by fosse (D 1m; Wth 3m) S->N with external bank (H 1m). Break in bank to WNW. Site overgrown with furze bushes. Laneway depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map cut through E half of barrow. No visible surface trace of laneway or E half of site survives. Second ring-barrow (7878) c. 25m to ESE; two possible ring-barrows (7889, 7888) c. 10m to ESE and c. 25m to NE respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
