In pasture, on break in W-facing slope, above sharp fall down to bogland, immediately E of Foherish River. Circular area (40m E-W; 39m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2.4m); external fosse (D 0.5m) SW->SSE. Entrance to SE (Wth 3.6m), with causeway. Interior saucer-shaped due to eroded profile of inner bank face; raised 4.4m on W side to compensate for sharp fall of ground. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
