In reclaimed meadow c. 3m to SSE of pair of standing stones (6561). Two similar cairns (7859, 7860) lie 20m and 17m to S respectively and form part of a complex of monuments (6560, 6471, 6491) in the SW foothills of Boggeragh Mountains. Circular cairn (diam. 9m; H 1m); according to O Nualláin (1984, 34), 'a number of stones near the perimeter appear to be part of a kerb'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
