What is recorded here

Monument was uncovered as part of archaeological test trenching under registration No E004865 (N22 Baile Bhuirne–Macroom Road Scheme). The excavated burnt mound material was semi-circular in plan and was composed of a dark black charcoal-enriched friable silty clay (60%) with heat-shattered burnt stones (40%). It had frequent inclusions of charcoal flecks and angular stones and measured 5.05 m in length, 4.6 m in width, and 0.25 m in depth. It continued outside the scheme boundary to the northeast.
