What is recorded here

Recorded as clayslate (H 3ft 10in; 1ft 3in x 71/2in), this is one of 15 ogham stones (CO055-007002-; CO055-007005- - CO055-007018-) found covering a souterrain (CO055-007003-). The stone is currently on permanent display in the Stone Corridor, University College Cork (for details see CO074-157----). The inscription was read by Macalister (1945, 89, no. 90) and McManus (2004, 19, no. 16.) as CRONUN MAC BAIT. A fracture after the final T may have obscured further letters. (Power et al. 1994, no. 4223) Compiled by: Nora White Date of upload: 4 February 2016
