What is recorded here

In pasture on N-facing slope, below a steep incline. Good view WSW->ESE. Centre of site levelled; remnants of earthen banks visible to E and W incorporated into field fence system. Circular area (37.5m E-W) defined SSW->NW by inner bank (H 1m); intervening fosse; outer bank (H 0.8m); outer fosse (D 0.6m): ENE->SE by single curving bank (H 1m): to S by inward facing low scarp where interior was cut into hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
