What is recorded here

In S half of ringfort (CO050-065001-). Investigated by Hartnett in 1930. McCarthy (1977, 274) recorded 'passage, stone-built (Wth 0.7m; H 0.75m). Walls irregularly coursed, corbelled. Some of capstones 20cm below surface'. Collapsed ground now indicates position. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
