What is recorded here

In a newly planted coniferous forest, on a gentle NW-facing slope. An oval mound (11.3m NNW-SSE; 5.8m NNE-SSW; H c. 0.5m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil, overgrown with tall grasses and briars. The mound has not been planted with trees. A second burnt mound (CO048-181----) lies c. 110m to the S and a third (CO048-182----) lies c. 90m to the SE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
