In pasture, on break in NE-facing slope. Circular area (22m E-W; 20m N-S), raised 1.2m on NE side to compensate for hillslope; defined by low, insubstantial, partially grass-covered stone wall (H 0.8m). Locally known as fort. Possible souterrain (8963) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
