What is recorded here

In pasture on a high plateau, sloping gently to the E. Indicated with the symbol for 'Danish Fort' on a 1716-17 map (no. 57) by J. Bateman (NLI MSS, 6148-9). This possible rath is discernible on the ground as a slightly raised circular area (dim. c. 30m). The townland boundary immediately to the N kinked at this point, changing direction from NE-SW to E-W and a field boundary immediately to the W ran NW-SE. Both of these boundaries have been removed. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
