Discovered as a result of archaeological testing in 2002 and subsequently excavated in 2003 in advance of construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass. Excavation revealed a curvilinear feature (0.47m x 6.51m; D 0.17m) with gradually sloping sides and a flat base forming a U-shaped profile. It contained a compact light-brown sandy silt with occasional flecks of charcoal and small angular stones. The fill yielded a single sherd of Middle Bronze Age pottery.
