Discovered in 2002 and subsequently excavated in 2003 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass. Nineteen pits, eight post-holes, six stake-holes, and a range of cultivation furrows were discovered. There was no apparent pattern to the post- and stake-holes, many of which occurred in isolation. A concentration of twelve small pits (av. diam. 0.3m; av. D 0.3m) with similar dimensions was recorded towards the S end of the excavated area. These pits contained heat-shattered stone. Three pieces of metal slag were recovered from one of the pits. (O'Connell 2006j, 68)
