This fulacht fia was excavated in 2003 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass (Quinn 2006a, 33-4). It consisted of a mound (12m E-W; 8m N-S) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil and 43 associated features including two troughs, a possible third trough and a number of shallow pits. (Murphy 2004, 87, Ballynahina 1) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
