This corn-drying kiln (structure G) was excavated in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass. The kiln (L 3.12m) comprised a conjoined circular (Wth 1.54m; D 0.29m) and rectangular pit (Wth 1.24m; D 0.1m). The basal fill in the circular pit consisted of 'intensely burnt clay with some charcoal' while the upper fill in both pits consisted of a black, charcoal-rich layer of silty sand. This kiln, which is of a 'dumb-bell' type, was located c. 10m to the SE of an enclosure (CO044-073003-) and c. 11m to the W of another enclosure (CO044-073001-).
