Excavation in 2003 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass revealed a simple, earth-cut, subcircular pit (diam. 0.36m; D 0.25m) containing cremated red deer antler. The pit was situated within an early medieval rectangular enclosure (CO044-073007-). A charcoal sample taken from among the antler remains was radiocarbon dated to 1120-750 cal.
