Religpatrick Grave Yard (Disused) — Dromore North

Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as rectangular area (c. 15m E-W; c. 10m N-S) defined by broken line and named 'Religpatrick Old Grave Yard'; shown on 1904 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps as subrectangular area (c. 25m E-W; c. 30m N-S) defined by broken line and named 'Religpatrick Grave Yard (Disused)'. In pasture, on N-facing slope, c. 300m W of St Patrick's holy well (13981). Roughly rectangular area (12.6m N-S; 15.8m E-W) defined by low rise (H 0.4m) all around. Some uninscribed grave markers noted. According to Bowman (1934, 603) 'circular, diameter 22yds', where no burials had taken place for 200 years. OS Field Books of 1839 noted 'several small stones...and some appearances of old graves' and also that 'no persons interred these 80 years, only unbaptized children' (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 3, 82).
